Questions we already hear
Straight answers for the opening phase. Details will sharpen as the lease, hours, and point-of-sale setup are finalized. For the shop overview, see the main page.
Do you ship, or is it pickup only?
The plan is Lethbridge pickup first — handoff at the counter or a defined pickup point — so sheets stay flat and liquids stay upright. Regional shipping may follow for small parcels; heavy paper will almost always want a ride home with you.
Where can I buy printmaking paper in Lethbridge?
Titivillus is being built for exactly that need: sheet stock for relief, intaglio, drawing, and related work, with local pickup and room for special orders. Until the physical shop opens, email is the best way to ask about availability or interest.
Is there an art supply store in Lethbridge for fine papers and studio supplies?
That is the goal. Titivillus is opening as an independent shop focused on fine papers, printmaking materials, oils, drawing supplies, and practical studio tools for local artists, students, and teachers.
Can you cut full sheets for me?
Yes, provided we have the sheet in stock and a clear cut list. Written dimensions help, and if grain direction matters for your project, say so explicitly. Some customers will still prefer to cut their own full sheets, which is completely fine.
What about special orders?
If a supplier we can work with carries it, we can usually quote a price, lead time, and any deposit requirement before you commit. Special orders should feel clear, not mysterious.
Student or school purchase orders?
Yes, but the exact process will depend on the school, department, and timing. Talk to us before semester rush and we can outline what can be invoiced, what needs prepayment, and how pickup will work.
Why not just order online from a giant chain?
Because material choice matters, and a local conversation often prevents a bad purchase. Paper is tactile, colour is hard to judge on a screen, and many projects do not leave room for shipping delays or trial-and-error buying.
Are you affiliated with the University of Lethbridge?
No formal affiliation — we are a separate shop — but we expect plenty of overlap with campus studios and galleries, and we want to be good neighbours to arts programming in the city.
What payment methods will you take?
The plan is to take in-person cards and cash at launch, with Square invoices or payment links for remote confirmation when needed. Until then, email is mainly for requests, quotes, and updates.
How do workshop registrations work?
Once booking goes live, the workshop buttons on the site will point directly to the public scheduling page. Until then, email is the way to ask for a seat or join the interest list.
Land acknowledgement
The shop sits in Lethbridge on Treaty 7 territory, traditional lands of the Blackfoot Confederacy and neighbouring Nations. We aim to operate with respect for that context in how we build community around materials and making.
Care & storage (short version)
Paper
Store sheets flat whenever possible. Vertical storage increases the risk of edge damage and curling, especially in dry indoor air. If you dampen paper for printing, give it time to relax evenly before it goes to the press.
Ink & tools
Close ink containers tightly, wash brayers before residue sets, and store rollers so the rubber is not bearing weight for long periods. Dry metal tools after cleanup if you want them to stay in working shape.
